Really nice hike. On the hike guide it called this one an easy one. However it was over 1.3 miles in and then 1.3 miles out. The way to the falls is entirely uphill. While the grade was not severe, the relentless climb did grind a bit on the knees. The way back though was a lot easier. Have a look at those black blobs in the trees. Its a young momma black bear with two cubs. There was a ranger on the trail watching over them.
This hike got started late in the day, about 2pm. Within about 10 minutes of arriving at the falls, the sky opened up and we got soaked. But the packs did their job and the Nikon made it out dry and unharmed. Even worried about the camera, the walk out was very enjoyable.
