Well, sometimes it just doesn't go as planned. This was an ambitious turn. And I knew the chances of this going smoothly was low. I had a chance to sell my Ducati on the 10th of July. Trick is I had to appear in Orlando at the DMV to sell it. So instead of exploring Nashville, I booked my self home on the 9th and back on the evening of the 10th.
Guess what.. .. Delta and the rest of the airline infrastructure sucks. I mean, I have not been traveling for a couple of years, but how could it come to this so quickly. Wow. Going into Orlando, I was delayed pretty badly and the trip slipped into the 10th for the arrival. This seemed to trash my itinerary with Delta and when my departure came around, my Delta app on my phone was gross. OK, I printed my boarding passes, and everything seemed ok. I had a nibble in the crown room and a drink (or two).
Then I got delayed. And missed my Nashville connection. I started to sweat. The rig has to move by noon on the 11th and if I am not there, that may not go well. So.... It's ok. I book a room in ATL, fly in, and arrange to be on the 7:30 AM flight from ATL to Nash and arrive by 7:35... Sure. That will go well.
Not so much. I don't arive at the Homewood Suites until 2:00 AM and they promptly and rudely kick me out. No help finding a new room. All I received was, well we left you a voice mail sir, I don't see why you are upset...... So back to the airport as there are no rooms to be found anywhere near ATL at a price I want to pay. So its an all night'r in ATL for me... Then the alarms start going off. See the video.... Totally scary. Like they have an active shooter. But its a false alarm. Still no one knows how to disconnect the alarm for over an hour.
So below are my memories of Nashville on the outbound leg of this trip.....
Uh, very scary
